I hunt with my late fathers 1884 10 gauge Parker. I had it gone over by Brad Bachelder. Not sure where your located however they are there are a few Parker experts out there. The gun looks to be in great condition. Personally I love the "clean up". You might be surprised what else you uncover. Good luck.

Many here hunt with our Parkers. There's a separate forum here dedicated to hunting with Parkers. I have two GH guns that are as old or older than yours and I hunt with them.

A concern about shooting it and/or hunting with it is one of safety. The condition of the barrels is important in this regard. You have steel barrels and unless they are severely pitted in the bores or on the surface near the breech end, it's probably perfectly safe to shoot. Be sure that the barrels close up tightly with no wobble or play at all.

Another potential concern is the condition of the stock head. Yours looks to be in good shape, but look it over carefully for any cracks up near the receiver and through the wrist of the stock. Hopefully it is solid.

Congrats on the "new" Parker and welcome!

Your gun would be described as "crispy" if I were doing the describing. It has a few warts, but overall it is not too far from as good as it gets in found guns.
