About 20 years ago I acquired a GH 12 from the original Joliet family that had it for 102 years. It was handed down from father to son for 3 generations then hit a daughter that couldn't have "evil guns" in the house. It was my fifth Parker and is my Talisman of what an unmolested original looks and feels like.

Fortunately my daughter wants my "Parkers" and she will get them when I finally depart this mortal coil. In the final analysis we are all just curators of these expressions of art and skill rendered in wood and steel to pass to the next generation who will cherish them as we do.

You have expressed how all should feel about their Parkers in a much more elegant way than I could. I love the term curators. It's perfect. Curators have intimate knowledge of their works of art and protect them in the condition that they found them in unless a restoration is needed. And then minimalist techniques are used to correct issues and restore some of the glory of the piece.

My daughter is not a shooter per se but she wants some of my guns because they belonged to me and gave me so much pleasure. She considers them keepsakes. You and I are very fortunate Michael.

I consider myself the luckiest guy in the world. Great Pretty Wife and Daughter, good friends, loving family, good job and an affliction for some of the finest tools wrought by the human hand. Yup we're blessed.
