I've read some excellent reviews on gun forums for the EEZOX. A guy soaked one steel wool in that and another in some other well known 'preservative/rust preventative' and put them both out on a wall facing the ocean beach for months. The EEZOX was far better at preventing the rust than the other, whatever it was. I was impressed. Have a friend in Denver experimenting with it now. I personally use Hoppes and Ballistol, with the addition of waxing the barrels of my duck guns with IBIZ, a pure carnuba wax.

Does Eezox smell as nice as Ballistol?

Been using EEZOX for a few years now with good success. It has a nice smell, but I can't compare to Ballistol.

i ve used wd 40 for lots of years with good results....charlie

One gun that I use WD40 on is a Superposed Broadway trap. The darned bores show rust from the trap line to the club house. A good soaking of WD40 will also loosen plastic build up and make it scrape right out of the bore with a tornado brush.

A spray can of carb cleaner loosens plastic buildup right now

Great stuff. It's all I use to clean and protect. For all the pivot points and sliding parts on a gun I use Ultima Lube Universal from Wilson Combat. Just a few small drops and it stays put. |
Play-Doh.... Really? I don't think that stuff had even been invented when I was a kid. What does Play-Doh smell like?
