Thank you Robert for the nice words. I really try to assemble well thought and written pieces that i only hope are of some interest to the readers of PP. And i hope that this article did that for some. For me, it was a lot of time and work to put it together.

It was a really good article Brian. I'm sure glad that you didn't write it on your iPhone..... :corn:

I would like to recognize John Frierson for his very nice article on Dr. Havilah Babcock's Parkers. I always wished that Dr. Babcock had been my English professor while attending the University but he was a bit before my time. John's article made me pull out my copy of "Tales of Quails n Such" and start re-reading. Dr. Babcock never let work get in the way of his bird hunting. He tells how he got into hot water once because his enterprising secretary posted a notice on his classroom door which stated that "Dr. Babcock will be sick all next week."

Nice work, John

A good secretary, and a good First Sargent can make your job a lot easier

After reading that article on Dr. Babcock and seeing the Parkers I was hoping to see a damascus barreled gun from the story "Fallen Lady". I think that was the story name.
