Parker Reproductions, in all grades and gauges factory choked Q1/Q2 are held in high regard by their owners, for a plethora of reasons. With a little diligence they can be found in 20 and 28-ga. guns with a 26" barrel length with some regularity. However, very seldomly are they found in 16 and 20-ga. guns with a 28" barrel length, I would consider finding one with 28" barrels an esteemed and cherished prize. Very rarely and almost non-existant will you find a 28-ga. 28" Repro factory choked Q1/Q2. In my world, I would consider finding one of these to be a dancing-in-the-street epic event -- I know of only two such guns.
Having said the above, I believe the rarest of them all would be a 12-ga. with 28" barrels factory choked Q1/Q2 -- I've never seen nor even heard of one, have you? |
Finding a Q choked 28" gun in any gauge is a rare event. Heck, it is hard enough to find one in 26". That said, I have both 26 and 28 inch repros and I find no difference in the shootability between the two. Of course, if you are in to collecting I can understand the quest for the rare 28" configuration.

I have a early 1900's GHE that somewhere along the way got separated from its original Damascus barrels and had Parker Reproduction barrels (26 inch) fitted up. They are marked Q1/Q2. It is fast becoming my favorite skeet gun to shoot.

That's a stroke of good luck Allen!!

It is Dean. And it has been restocked with gorgeous wood. Only issue I have is that the checkering pattern on the stock is consistent with vh not ghe grade. Other than that it's a great find and shooter

And you tried to sell it! |
That was before I decided to keep it and realized how well it was on skeet.

Q1&Q2 inventor
Ha Ha Dean, I have been accused of a lot of things (most untrue) but being the inventor of Q1&Q2 is not one of them. I don't know where that came from, I can look around if you fellows want but I may not find an answer. Thanks again Richard Skeuse

Oops.... Sorry Richard, I meant to say your dad, Tom Skeuse. According to The Parker Story the terms Quail 1 and Quail 2 were coined by him.
