You can save some money by going to 2 or 3F and just use less powder. In the 12ga with 1oz of shot I use 70grs of 3F. If using 2f it's 80grs. I sometimes shoot 100 to 150 shells in one day of smoke at a SC's event and to later clean the barrels I use two buckets of hot water, one soapy and one clean. First I pour water down the barrels, then a tornado brush is used to loosen the crud, then wet patches on a jag in the soapy water. Then patches down the barrels in clean water. Next a couple patches to dry, then one soaked with WD-40. A final patch with oil. I also spray the extractors with WD-40 to displace any water, and then oil. It sounds like it takes a while but in about 10 minutes the job is done. The part of my basement I use for reloading and a small shop has a drain in the floor so it's easy to get rid of the dirty water.
