Drew can correct me if I'm wrong on this.
I think your barrels look a lot like these tubes on a GH-12 Parker I have. These barrels are marked Damascus but they are different from the normal pattern seen on grade 2 hammerless guns. They also have a Birmingham provisional proof mark on them & were probably English in source. You might look yours over for a proof mark. The Birmingham proof mark is on the right tube in the bottom picture. |
Definitely Laminated Steel Paul, and remarkable similar to "Silver Steel". I can't image Greener would have let a pair of his proprietary tubes out of the shop!
They may actually be "English machine-forged 3 rod Laminated steel" which was the winner of the Phase 1 test of the Birmingham Proof House Trial. Scroll down about 1/3 here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...EK8OtPYVA/edit |
Thanks, All. If anything, I think it looks most like the Greener's Silver Steel but still not quite a dead match.

Very much interested in the 'after' pics Josh - please do post!

1879? That pattern looks very familiar!
As well it should, having a P stamped on the forward end of the right barrel flat where we would otherwise expect to see the stamp for the type of barrel steel. . |
