I have one, its a Belgium Parker hammer gun.
Double click to enlarge and see detail.
Still looking for an ad where it was used.

Off topic sort of. But what about roll marking dies. Does anyone have any of those. Certainly in the later production days they must have moved away from engraving.

Roll dies were used on the lock plates of hammer guns on the very lower grades for a relatively short term.

And roll dies were pretty much always used for the makers marks on the ribs. Except for some cases where they were hand engraved.

I believe Turnbull has a few of the original roll dies for the ribs.

I thought ribs were rolled for at least part of the time. I think there an old PP article maybe by Austin?

As Parker Bros phased into roll dies for the ribs, hand-engraved rib legends were mostly phased out, with exceptions.
There is a very informative section on rib markings in The Parker Story and there has been at least one In-depth article on the subject in Parker Pages. These two resources will tell us everything there is to know on the subject.

This is all I could find on "rib" search of our index, maybe that is what is being refered to.
