Breath taking !!!!

Any one care to guess who did the engraving?
|
I think you could narrow it down pretty closely by knowing who the chief engraver was at the time that the gun was made. It's all in The Parker Story.
Sure, they may have contracted somebody outside of the usual Parker Bros. contractors but in this case, I doubt it - we have seen this engraver's art before on the nicer Parkers. . |
Amazing number of very nice to near mint Parkers in the Julia Auction, unbelievable! The 8ga. B and the other high grade guns are head turners for sure, I can't play in that league but it's fun just looking at the great photos and complete descriptions. The gun that caught my attention is lot 3455 the DHE 16ga with 30" bbls, great period of Parker production and wonderful high original condition. Boy would that gun make a nice centerfold in a collection of small bores. Oh well it's fun to day dream.

Yes indeed, a fine collection of the Parker art! The missus became concerned when I started mumbling about a second mortgage!

I've only witnessed that perfect 'chamfering' on high grades and I've only seen one other Parker with that treatment and it will be featured in a future DGJ article.

I got my catalogs a couple of days ago, have read through about half. It is obvious to me that some of the big check writers in our organization will run out of checks before the guns are gone. Good for the rest of us. Good buying to all of us.

A few folks have asked - we will have a number of the Parkers on display this weekend at the Vintage Cup. Come on by and say hello!
