Thanks for the reply. Can anyone tell me if specifications exist on bore and chamber sizes for these early Parkers?

Robin Lewis 03-24-2016 11:42 AM

The lifter end is unique to me, has anyone else seen another lifter with this simple flat end to the lifter's end?

Gary Carmichael Sr 03-24-2016 02:13 PM

Robin, I think what we are seeing is the plunger less the flat piece that is held on with a screw, if his gun has a threaded hole in the plunger that would be the case I have 029, and 97 both with the flat piece with the screw to hold it on to the plunger, later they were changed to a solid piece, Gary

Robin Lewis 03-24-2016 02:17 PM

Gary, I agree but I see no sign of a screw hole?

Gary Carmichael Sr 03-24-2016 02:19 PM

I should have looked at the photo first the plunger in his gun has no threaded hole? maybe the customer asked for it like that all they would have had to do was not drill and tap whole in the plunger, interesting again never say never when it comes to especially older hammer guns from Parker, Gary

Gentlemen, you are correct when you have noticed no screw hole in the lifter. If there ever was a flat piece it would have had to been pressed on. I can see no evidence that there was a "cap" on this lifter and it seemed strange to me.

11 bore Parker

Will there be anyone at the Spring SXS that will be able to give me more information on this gun? I have read the chapters in "The Parker Story" and two articles relating to early Parker Lifter bores and chambers in The Double Gun Journal but the latest is about 6 years old and I am hoping there may be even more information now available.

There will be some knowledgeable people around the Parker-Smith tent, so please drop by with your gun.

Thanks!
