Brian, can you detail the process you used to apply the finish? I assume Timberlake is a modified oil. How does it compare to Pro Custom Oil and Truoil? Is the final coat like that or did you knock it down?

As far as details about the composition of Timberluxe, i am sure there are details on their we site. When i do a finish using just Timberluxe, i wet sand it into the wood for the first two or three costs and then hand apply it in the coats after that. I do knock down with steel wool every couple of coats as needed. The finish coats are left as they dry and the sheen you see is just that. The only thing i can note about Timberluxe is that is takes a long time for the finish to really get hard. It has a bit of a "green" feel for some time after applying it.
I will a lot of times also use Timberluxe as a final top coat over my shellac finishes to get the sheen i am looking to acheive.

It does get more into the wood and provide a darker and richer finish than Tru Oil. And though i do have a bottle of Pro Custom here, i have not used it enough to formulate an opinion about it.

Wonderful piece of wood, but I can't say I like the wrist, shape of the ball grip, or nose of the comb. To each his own I suppose.

Brian,
Good morning.
Would you be willing to share the DOC and DAH?
Thanks,

Looks perfect Brian. I can't wait to shoot it. I was fitted by Pat Laboone out of Duluth,MN. I have shot the first gun Brian stocked for me the past year and have been extremely happy with my results. This will be my grouse gun. 28" 4 wt barrels. For those that are wondering I am 6'2". After the stock fitting and shooting lessons I don't even notice the LOP.

For those looking for a restock work Brian has been fantastic. Always communicates progress reports even though I probably bug him more than I should!!! I am hoping I can find the funds to send him a third gun!!!
