The serial number is 32902 and doesn't appear on the barrel flats that I can see. What I do see on the barrel flats is the order number right where it belongs.

We can't see the side of the lug where the serial number should be stamped.

So, I'm still a bit confused as to why he asks the question.

i agree

but how many times have we seen that order number thought to be a serial number by mistake

and by that misunderstanding - thinking the barrels came from a different gun

when I bought one of my hammer guns the seller said it was a non matching gun until I asked him to check the side of the lug, not every one knows this little oddity

You're right Rick... we see that a lot. I should keep in mind that the 'Parker learning curve' is a long, gradual one. We were all there (and to some degree, still are) and as our friend Austin used to say, "I don't ever want to stop learning."

Glad I read this thread. Learned something new today. Now I know to look on the side of the lug for a SN. Thanks guys. This is why we cruise these threads, hoping to glean some knowledge from you gents, especially from the much older and experienced collectors like Dean. :)

Hey wait a minute... I'm just a young sprout compared to some of the old coots on here

That was precisely why I asked. Thanks for clearing that up.
