Phil, I replied to you via PM. Most of the time, the IBM card does not list who the gun was sold to. In Phil'S case it did. In all cases when the name is given, it does not give the city and state. It'S then time for Google! I don't think this gun was a true Parker skeet gun as listed in the catalog but it could be used as one. Just my opinion.

Phil, I have a 20 ga Skeet gun made by Remington with the IBM card and it had the owners name and Bill Murphy researched it and found that he was a fairly well known Skeet shooter from TX. So never say never.....

The barrel flats should be marked skeet in/out as previously stated. I didn't see that in the photo. A skeet configured gun is more likely the case here. Nothing wrong with that but it wouldn't command the price of a true skeet gun. There are far less skeet guns with a PG as most were straight grip.

At the end of the day it's a nice small bore and a great upland gun.

This gun clearly is not marked skeet. Oh well I kind of like double triggers anyway. I ordered a letter this morning so I can learn the name of the buyer. The family sold two 20 gauge Parkers that they say was the grandfathers since new. The other was a DHE with 30 inch barrels. It has Remington markings showing it was sent back May of 1945. This VHE gun has Remington markings showing it was built in March of 1945. HOPE TO GAIN SOME HISTORY!

Thank you Bill I absolutly we do that. I would really like to find out about the owner. The family also sold a winchester 218 Bee and a Winchester 220 Swift. He had used them so much the bluing even on the scopes was worn almost off. I should have bought the swift. A man really needs to use a gun a lot to see that amount of wear. The were not abused as all of the bores were good.
