According to Flexners book, Watco Danish oil doesn't have any protective properties and basically just darkens stuff it is applied to.

Don't know if that is the case, but that is what he says in the book.

LMF PERMALYN is great to work with and gives a nice oil Finish look. I also prefer he sealer, it's a little thinner. Penetrates well and drys fairly fast.

I have used Waterlox on wood floors, but never on a gun. It is pretty nice stuff. Wonder how it holds up on a gunstock.

All the same IMHO, Timberluxe as Bruce said. Simple to use and blends well over most existing original non-poly finishes.
