I may have this all wrong as I just started chasing the big gray birds this year . But FOR ME if I don't shoot them with one of my old doubles I'm not overly interested . Nothing against other folks using whatever and I applaud them , just saying for me the charge seems to be in using my old guns .

I haven't killed a duck or goose with anything but a vintage gun in 20 years. If it weren't for the old iron, I'd have probably given up the sport actually.

i agree on the storey for parker pages...i kinda look at destrey as maybe the last great water fowler of our times..a man leaving home to work 2 and 3 jobs to support hisduck and goose episodes is a book in its self....charlie
