Imagine that thing doubling on you (or tripling).

The Cosmi is bizarre! The 2nd and 3rd shells are stored in the stock - not the forend. That gun has been at Jaqua's for years. Someone should buy it and make Nick (the owner) very happy

Three barrel game gun? Heck, Charles Lancaster started making 4 barrel hammerless guns in 1882. Workable design where the hammer rotated and the barrels and action were static. Later ones had a trigger that was pulled by the middle finger to cock the hammer and another trigger pulled by the index finger to fire it. Kind of a under lever opener. It had a square shape with two barrels on top and two below.
Boss came out with their 3 barrel gun, all in a row like the picture, in 1898. It was a single trigger design, so they figured it out early. I suppose a lot of the others tried the designs too, probably just to say they could.
Autos weren't really an option when they were brought out.

Either Rock Island or Julia's had an auction in the last 12 months where they had both a 3 barrel SxSxS and a 4 barrel shotgun .

There is a three barreled gun currently on the market, in the form of a triangle, upside down to a drilling. There is a 20, and a 12 hanging up in the Indian Hill Trading Post. I didn't ask to see it.

I actually wouldn't mind having that Chiappa if the barrels were selective but it's my understanding they are shot in unchangable sequence . I thought that uh Jewell with 24" tubes would make a lovely buckshot slug gun for deer drives .
