Steve, Forrest Grilley makes the brass hulls at Track of the Wolf. He is also a PGCA member and very knowledgeable about the brass hulls. You could P M him and ask your questions. I bet he'll have the answers you need.

There's no need to anneal shotgun brass. Shotguns have a much lower pressure than rifles or pistols and they're a straight walled hull with no crimp. The brass isn't worked back and forth. Everyone I know just glues in the over shot card. Track of The Wolf would be the way to go. The Mag Techs I used for years showed no signs of cracking.

I just anealed 350 38/55 cases that I bought when my CPA Rifle was built in 1993. Well over 10,000 shots fired out of that lot of 500. Some needed it some did not. Brass will tell you when it needs to be anealed by the way it sizes . Other 150 I formed into 32/40 and fire much less. They don't need it yet.

Higher pressure cartridges need annealing more often.

Back in the day, when market hunters were reloading their brass hulls daily for the next day's shoot, I'll bet there was no annealing going on.
