I have the spreadsheet and am running the lightest Green Dot loads . Started 1 1/4 oz 27.5 GD then down to 1 1/8 oz 26 gr GD still a bit more recoil than I want. It's fine in my Parker sharp in the Ithaca, although it patterns very well, either gun.

Also have a 1 1/8 oz shot 19 gr Red Dot load for roll crimped Cheddite Hulls. Works well but really best in short cases, and rolled. RD takes so little room under the wad. Nice easy shooter though.

Going to back off on the GD down to 25 grs,

William

Some of the guys are shooting the GD load at 22 grains 1 1/8oz

Mark

That's good information,

William

i shoot 19 grs 700-x for 1 1/8th oz and 18 grs for 1 oz loads and for my crow load 1 1/4 oz with 22 grs 700-x. last load came from an old reloading book but the pressures were low.

I have shot a lot of 1 1/8 ounce loads in the short ten using 19 grains of Red Dot and 22 grains of Green Dot. Both are nice loads but they are untested loads.

pete is rite on with those loads either load is light on the shoulder and gun stock and will kill a squirl at 45 steps in a full choke gun any day of the week....charlie

Charlie

I got the Red Dot load from you and it's a good one

Just patterned both barrels in my Parker 10 Hammer gun with 1 1/8 oz 7 1/2 and 22.5 Green Dot. SP 10 Wad with a 1/2 inch 16 G fiber wad bottom of the shot cup.

Patterns are nearly identical to RST factory 1 1/8 oz # 8 with less recoil. Difference in the shot size is obvious but still plenty of pellets in the pattern.

No crono yet, am going to load up 25 and shoot some clays with them first

Thanks all

William

Back when I was shooting a lot of ATA trap Green Dot was the preferred powder by reloaders for their handicap loads, 3 dram 1 1/8, for it's tight patterns and lower perceived recoil. In trapshooting if you think something gives you an edge, it does. I think you will like that loading in your 10.

Finished 25 fold crimped and another dozen same load with Polywad 12 g spreader disk over the shot roll crimped .

Would like to see how fast they are have a chronograph that's a real pain to set up. If this lot breaks targets well will crono the last few shells..
