should be a good shooter

When it gets here I'm going to take it out to the club and shoot a couple rounds of trap and see how it feels . I have a friend that wants it if I don't care for it , so if need be I can get rid of it easy enough .

People I bought this shotgun from called me today to tell me it was shipped today and they gave me the UPS tracking number , I should have it by 10 AM Friday

Just got the gun and it's actually better then I anticipated . Case colors are still pretty decent on the action . The blueings a bit worn on the barrels but such is life . I've not measured the dimensions on the stock but it "feels" like a more modern gun rather then one made in 1912 . The barrels measure 32" exactly as listed in the book .

The pins in the wrist .

They measure 32" exactly !

The box on the end is not the best box I've ever seen but it is slightly there and the barrels measure exactly 32" as listed . Also the chokes are full and more .

I have a friend who offered to take this off my hands last week if it came in and I didn't like it . Think we'll have to find him one somewhere else !

Nice gun. Looks a lot like my 32" VH I bought last fall. Mine was built in 21 and choked F/M. But very similar other then that. My barrels were incorrectly blued(freer gun shop is handling that), and they had blued the top lever( I have since corrected), but I like and and you should enjoy yours. I ended up refinishing the stock myself because it had a lot of oil in the neck, but yours looks good. Like the straight grip, mine was PG.

The pinning looks to be done well. If it ever bothers you I believe Mr. Dudley can make those pin spots go away. But if they don't bother you, I say leave em alone. They are part of the gun's history.

I talked to Danny Patton about the pins already and we came to the decision that they didn't hurt anything .

The drop in the stock is 1 1/2" and 2" . I "think" this gun and I may get along very well .

I haven't checked under the trigger guard for the serial number on the wood but I doubt seriousely that the woods been swapped on this gun .

Twenty or so years ago I had a VH #1 frame 16 gauge with a straight grip stock , 30" pipes choked F&F . Wish I had it back now it would've made a fair to middlin clays gun as well I think .

I have shot skeet with mine using RST spreader loads and it has done quite well.

No I don't imagine there is any issue with the pinning, it would be more a cosmetic thing if the look bothered you.

I checked under the trigger guard and the stock serial numbers to the gun . The LOP on this thing is 14 5/8" I was thinking that was a touch long and maybe was a replacement stock . But after seeing the serial number in the wood I feel better .

My 34'' VHE was made the same year. It has a 15'' LOP.
