I went back, read your original post and realize that you were talking of the short 10. I had it in my mind you were talking 2 1/2" -12 ga.
I apologize for running off on your thread.:cuss:

Not a problem ! If I were able I wouldn't mind 2 1/2" 800's fir the 12,16,20 myself !

I solve that problem by just using 2 3/4" shells in my 2 1/2" guns. By the way, I have been using P-W loaders since the first year they made them. I am still loading on my original 800Bs.

I had 2 800B's - a 12 and a 20. Used them a lot, and liked them, but got scared by the stories of lack of service parts. Sold the 12 gauge and bought an 800+. It's fantastic! Smoother, and less mistakes than with the 800B. Still using the 20 gauge (infrequently) because most of my target shooting these days is 12 gauge. Wish could find some 800x powder to run thru the 20 gauge.

Just as an example, my AA 12s are about 2 5/8", my Top Gun 20s are about 2 5/8", my Gun Club 12s are about 2 5/8". Parker Brothers and others recommended 2 5/8" shells in 2 1/2" chambers. I think I will stick with my standard loaders.
