What's the idea behind that front sight reticule?

I recently looked at VH grade that had a nearly identical aperture affixed to the rib at the breech end of the barrels. Could this have any connection to try guns? I assumed it was aftermarket but seeing these pics I'm not so sure.

No Mike. Holes for a Nydar sight.

I understand they were adapted from aerial gunnery sights and provided indices for lead for crossing targets. After you see one mounted, you understand why you don't see them.

Nydar sight???, It has been mentioned many
many times but I have never seen one mounted on a Parker or even a picture of one....if anyone has a picture of one mounted, please post it.
