Is that picture taken somewhere around Norway?

Beautiful country, Tenth!

So what's your go-to call? The kee-kee run?

PS---I do see the tip of a windmill on that third ridgeline, Deanno!!

Last photo Quaker Ridge, Casco looking west toward Mt. Washington, NH. In the fall we imitate whatever we're hearing and kee kee and kee kee run often ring after a good scatter.

Do you ever use a Parker for your turkey hunts?

Dean, that's all I've used since acquiring a grade 1 1882 hammer gun 15 years ago. Tomorrow's opening day of Maine's fall turkey season and son Tim will be toting an old Clabrough Bros hammer gun, fellow Tenth Legion guide Robb will use the 1882 and I'll be "field testing" new-to-me 1889 GH. The new wrinkle is brass shells which sound awesome when chambered in the gloom of early morning.
Are you familiar with the Norway area?

Dean Romig 10-01-2014 11:26 PM

Yes I am... From Naples and Denmark to Bridgedton up through Harrison, Norway and on up through Rumford and beyond. Great country for the hunter and fisherman the Western Maine Mountains. My 'stompin' grounds' are in Vermont's Northeast Kingdon but that entire band through northern New England is reason to never want for more.

Three century hunts: 21st century turkey, 20th century hunter & 19th century Parker

I like the brass shells. I'm loading some 10 ga for ducks and geese. What powder are you using?

Dean Romig 10-02-2014 11:50 PM

Glad you caught that typo..... :rotf:
