The locking mechanism has the same serial number as the rest. About the wood I don't know for it is beded, one of the replys was that it is not the original foreend..

The forend iron has the correct serial number as the rest, I don't know about the wood it has been bedded and I don't see a serial number. There was a reply the the forend is not original. I'm not and expert on Parker guns so I have to relay on the experts.

I say that the forend is not original since it is more proud of the metal at the back than it should be and also the checkering is no where near correct for the grade. It is full cover and is borderless. The bedding you mention is another clue to support this.

George, Thank you for the reply. The forend does look a bit proud but several of us have seen SBT guns with various styles of forend checkering even in C grade guns. We must remember to never say never.

I want to thank everyone for their input, it has helped very much. Although this SBT may not have the original wood it is a truly a beautiful gun. The balance when you put it to your shoulder is amazing. My father used this for over thirty years and was a top trap shooter here in Western Pennsylvania.
