The "lets kill all the lawyers" is a wonderful quote spoken by Falstaff, the buffoon and lovable fool of the play. He appears in several Shakespeare plays as the overweight and say anything that comes to mind everyman character.

However, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and that Iran Abajanian ( whatever his name) think its a pretty good idea and acted upon it.

I have an excellent book on the history of the American revolutionary war that has some statements in it that originated at the time of the revolution stating that one of the main problems the new nation had was "too many lawyers". I got a good laugh when I read that. Some would day that "some things never change".
