Bruce, This thread brought back memories for me. I owned Parker serial # 169817 sold the gun 10-12 years ago, stats were ordered on August 11 1914 and shipped to Salisbury N.C. to Kesler Hardware co. of Salisbury N.C. Order book 91 said the gun was a DHE hammerless 20 gauge with Damascus steel barrels with a length of 24" was a pistol grip stock 14 inches drop at the heel 3" and weight light, the requested chocks were RH- cylinder & LH modified 75.00 plus 18.75 for ejectors I researched it a bit since it was a N.C. gun, was told the owner of the hardware store ordered the gun for his son but never gave it to him, why I do not know the gun was in pristine original condition. I still kick myself for selling it. Gary

I agree with Bruce. Short bbls work for me. I used my 24" PHE16 on our Minnesota grouse hunt in October and did just fine with it.... I can miss with ANY length of barrel...

Another nice gun Bruce! I agree the shorter barreled guns are great for carrying in the field. I like the reduced weight and when its time to shoot I never give a thought about barrel length.
