With more than fifty-four thousand guns made by them you would expect there would be others, but it is what it is - either extremely rare or maybe unique.

A very nice and interesting gun.

Now I was under the impression Old Hemlock dogs were ONLY supposed to be shot over with nice old Pre War Purdey's :rotf:

:) don't we wish

Might be an interesting inventory to take at the reunion in March.

My two OH dogs normally hear a Parker, although its occasionally a Fox or a modest English gun.

George's Purdy is stil out there. And of course he shot Foxes for many years prior to inheriting the Purdy. Off the top of my head I can think of other Purdys, H&H, Boswell, Fox, Sauer, Lancaster, AYA & an Elsie amongst the guns in the field

The is a picture in GBE's Upland Shooting Life that shows a collection of his hunting friend's smokepoles

Dave, had to go back today and see that gun again, love it. Then I saw your album with the EE Lefever, very nice. I really like those Lefevers. I have a little DSE 20 and a G grade damascus 16.
