Anybody hazard a guess as to what this gun is worth? I told him he needs to get insurance on it. I would love to bring it to one of the SXS shoots for display.

Harold, I recently saw an AHE 20, with 30" barrels, but not in nearly the condition as the one you have. It was at CSMC, and I believe it was $33K

Some of the value will be determined if the butt has been cut. We don't know if it has a pad (perhaps factory) or s ssbp. This info would help but I think Edgar is in the ballpark.

I'd like to see some pics if you have them of the Greener. Those side lever hammer guns are very nice.

[QUOTE=Dean Romig; I've seen a number of Grade-5 Parkers without game scenes but with "rose and scroll", or with flowers of various kinds.[/QUOTE]

Dean,
You've seen another AHE 20 sans flower and animals such as the one below.

Harold,
Your friend has a beautiful A grade there. The only thing I would do is fix the floor plate screws and avoid storing the gun with that slip on pad to avoid marking the stock in any way.

Yes Larry, but alas, it has gone along its way of endless curatorship.

Larry, as a comparison, what was the serial number of the one in your pictures?

Made in 1929, approximately 6 years after the gun Harold has shown.

Dean Romig 01-09-2014 12:06 PM

Larry, I know the original owner is a matter of record, but being a 1929 gun were you able to get a letter on it? So many guns from 1929, 1930 can't be researched through PGCA because of missing book(s).

Harold Lee Pickens 01-09-2014 12:10 PM

Rich, the gun does have a skeleton butt plate. The Greener is now on the "other guns" section, and the hammer 10 parker in the hammer forum.

Harold, your friend has good taste in scatterguns. Very nice.

Geeeezze-Louise, Harold. That one is A REAL SCREAMER!!!! Can you imagine being in the pawn shop if that ever came waltzing through the front door. Selling an AHE-20 for drugs? I guess that lends a whole new meaning to:

BREAKING BAD!!!
