A sportsman's paradise Scott. That area is HOT with stripers about the time the apples lose their blossoms. Been there - done that, but I've never hunted the area. Just a few miles inland is where Burt Spiller, Gorham Cross aka "Grampa Grouse", and "Tap" Tapply and son Bill tramped the autumn woods for grouse and woodcock. You're fortunate to live that close to all that.

Nice work boys, keep it up.

I'm hoping to do a little shooting this weekend while down at home for the holiday.

They are beautiful ducks for sure. Hard to believe they got close to extinction a century ago. Now people around here almost take them for granted. I almost decided to get this one mounted so my son could have the first duck from his first hunt. Then I thought it might be better to get a good recipe and let him eat it.

Mills did you break it and then have to tape it back together.

It had a repair that came loose. The stock there is busted into several pieces and was held together by epoxy. I had it up at Darlington Gun Works for 2 years and they determined it needed a new stock. Well, I got tired of it sitting up there and decided to get it back and shoot it a little. May get a second opinion, as the wood on the stock is beautiful, but I am pretty sure they were right.
