Actually, the PG Skeet and Trap facility is "on" the NASA property, a section that is a chain link fence away from rockets and bombs! It is a wonderful clay target facility. My gun clubs are about 35 miles directly north of the White House. They are not always open to the public, but have many public events. The gun show schedule is variable, depending on whether you tell me when you are going to be here, or not. The National Firearms Museum is a must see, for more than one day. It is open every day, and is free, with a cafeteria for lunch, and a range, if you care to shoot.

If you decide to travel to Middleburg VA, in addition to David Condon Inc. (located right on Main St. to the left as you enter town), do NOT miss the National Sporting Library and Museum of Sporting Art. Go west on Main St. and turn left just after the Southern States Store (also on the left). The Library and Museum are on the right about a block and a half. Look for the stone courtyard and the great sculpture of the Civil War Cavalry Horse in the center of the courtyard. Both are wonderful places!

We get in on Wednesday, 11-25 and leave Sunday morning. I only have one Parker, G grade Damascus, 16ga, built 1892, in looks to be original condition. Love it.
Also have a blend of other SXS from Italian to LC's. |
Try the Decoy Museum in Harve de Grace- just up I-95 from DC. The crab cakes anywhere in town are superb as well. There are lots of decoy carvers in Harve de Grace- decorative as well as working wood decoys. You will have fun there.

Bill Murphy,
To Clarify my plans, I will be arriving Wednesday 11-20-13 late afternoon, leaving Sunday 11-24-13 Mid morning. Appreciate all the recommendations so far and it may be difficult to fit in a sporting clay shoot. I plan to look at an English Setter contact as I am in the market for a replacement for my 9 year old that died this past October. Always looking for advise from Grouse hunters on who might be a logical breeder to contact. Not too many out in the southwest for sure. Greg |
