While I generally agree that refinishing is a detriment to value, my opinion of a Parker with a Remington code and weep hole is pretty good. I thought most Parker people would assume the presence of such would indicate a factory refinish job. While not "original", is it not the next best thing?

I have found weep holes in a few parker barrels in the short piece of rib behind the forend lug when reattaching the lug , the holes had been plugged with lead , and they seemed to still be original , but its hard to tell on hundred year old barrels. you guys wouldn't belive how badly some barrels are rusted under the ribs. I have seen others that look great

Only if it can be proven that it is "factory" work... some kind of documentation would be necessary, IMHO.
