It may have been cracked from long ago, or just weakened, judging from the wooden doewl in the stock head.

Yes , I expect it has been growing for years and finally showed itself on the outside.

its been my most used upland gun for about 10 years as was, just going to miss all that electrical tape once it is replaced :rotf:
