Look how close the SN's are too. I still kick myself for not buying this gun.

Nope. It was for sale for $17K and I had ample time but I just didn't.

Bill ,or anyone else that would know ,Who would you say the Engraver was for these two guns ,Very nice but very unique also !

Mark, it is definitely an interesting gun. Have you sent for a letter about it yet? I am curious if information is available about who placed the original order for it. Were you able to decipher the "stenciled?" address? on the right side of the stock and have you found a name that goes with the initials on the grip cap? Thanks you for sharing the pictures and other information with us. Fred.

I did send for a letter on Monday
I will add later today what it says on the stock as best I can read it
I have also been asked to add some more pictures of the wood which I will try and do today

The name on the side is James Marshall after that it looks like the word Alaska

Ater that The next line says I think Uperville Then 4 letters I can't make out
maybe voin? vqin ?
Thats all I can make out or guess at
The gold plate has the letters TII ?
