OOOOOh. An Ansley Fox! Now there's another beautiful shotgun. All of these guns are beautiful. You guys are killin' me!

Craig you are of course correct in terms of original selling prices of a Fox A Grade and Parker GH. It is however my opinion that an A Grade Fox, especially those with the later engraving style(s), is the equivalent of a GH Parker in terms of style and beauty. Heck, even a Sterlingworth has the graceful lines of the action bosses that scream "Let's go shoot pigeons!"

I like both the Parker GH/EH and Fox A Grades but I think the Fox action "lines" make it an unfair competition in terms of style. Of course this is like admiring the beauty of female figures. Some like the svelte lines of a runway model, some long to hold a petite figure like Audrey Hepburn's, and other desire curves like Marilyn Monroe's! In the end we usually love the woman in our arms regardless of her figure.

Hey All,

I did purchase the GH this afternoon. The deal went very smooth and I was able to get some of the guns history. It belonged to the Grandfather of the seller, who I was told was an avid outdoorsman here in the northwest. Fishing, upland birds, etc.. I was told by the seller that neither he or his father had fired his grandfathers gun which might explain the decent or better condition. Over the years I've owned many shotguns but none have been 16 gauge. I'm excited to learn and shoot this gun being my first 16 gauge.

Jeff, I'm glad it all worked out. It looks like a prize to me. As for it being a 16, I expect you will love it. My first shotgun (a Winchester model 12) was a 16. For years, it was my only shotgun and I took everything with it--quail, ducks and geese, and even a turkey on the wing. It's a very versatile gauge. Yours will probably be lighter to carry than a 12, but it will have all the pattern density you need for just about anything. Congratulations on your Parker!
