in the south when cotton was called KING COTTON there was always a race to see who had the first cotton bloom in the field lastly the race was to see who ginned the first bale of cotton. so i purpose to see who gets the first band on duck or goose this season.the person will have all the bragging rights that go with it... what do you fellows say... charlie

My first banded duck was two years ago and it was double banded... one being a $50 reward band....and the duck was banded by a friend of mine with whom I rented a house in Anchorage years back. What are the chances!? I shot another banded mallard last year and called the number in but they never got back to me with the details.

that was real neat about the bird your friend banded would be a chance in a billion that would happen...my dad killed banded birds way back in the early 60 s but my band is still flying some where.. charlie

Richard,
Call in again and I'm guessing you'll get some action this time. The bird was probably freshly banded and the information hadn't been filed yet. Usually the bands we shoot up in Quebec are this way, takes several months for the reports to come in. DLH |
