Yep, we had a fantastic time ! the nicer woods are the easy routes to the tangles where the birds hide ,our shins and the dogs pay the toll ....you have to really like it to do it

[QUOTE=Brian Hornacek;374921]The birds were brought here about 50 years ago I believe, trapped in Michigan and imported.

everything ive read said that this isnt a viable strategy. is this documented anywhere? does anyone know more about this? Turkeys have been widely redistributed like so but apparently not grouse.

looks like beautiful cover.

Aaron, Missouri relocated grouse. Where they still manage habitat for them, there are birds.

interesting. The rgs seems to say that it cannot be done, at least not viably economically. One island in maine saw the rod and gun club bring in pheasants which are now semi wild. If they had known, perhaps grouse would have been a more appropriate choice.

Well it worked here in spades

There is a little knot of ringnecks on Pea Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I don't know how they got there.

Planting ruffies in Alaska also worked well.

Very nice, thoroughly enjoyed that.
