I am playing with the idea of a group of us "southern boys" chartering a small bus and run it up from SC, through NC, Va to the shoot. That would make a 10 hour run enjoyable and arrive rested and ready to shoot. Anyone interested?
David

Great idea David
and the Maine/New Hampshire boys should do the same.

That is a good idea. Might be good for Hausman's too

Here are a few pictures I took before the battery in my camera went dead.

1. Rock Mountain SC as seen from the road down into the place.

2. The new pavilion where the vendors set up their displays and tables and with ample parking (this year ;)).

3. The equipment barn and at the far end of it is the luxurious clubhouse of some 40' X 40' or so.

4. Station 6 puts you on a cantilevered platform out over the canyon ('I think I'm gonna be sick' kind of feeling up there). Target 1 is a pop-up at about 40 yards at the closest and target 2 is a right-to-left screamin' crosser at the bottom of the canyon.

5. Station 6 again.

6. Station 6 looking down to the path of the crosser (urp...)

7. Station 8 had a blooper that slowly went up 15 feet and dropped 10 yards in front of you.... and a fast, low right to left crosser that you had to be pretty quick to break.

8. Station 11 was a pair of rabbits..... I've never seen bunnies hop so high... the one in the picture is on it's way down...

Book it!!!!!

Vegas has early odds on John to win the "Iron Man".

BTW, Dean, "Screaming Crosser" on #6?? It just seemed fast due to your fear of heights!!! BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!

Dean Romig 09-09-2015 10:34 PM

I just closed my eyes and shot....

Fear is a great motivator - I broke that bird every time!

Prolly just luck.

You couldn't pay me a million dollars to ride through the Deep South in that thing:rotf:

Dean Romig 09-10-2015 01:34 PM

That sure looks like the "Southern Deep Fried Magic Bus" to me....:D

It lends a whole new meaning to "shot-gunning"
