I think if you wanted a nice Grade 3 16 you should have kept bidding !

I did not see the gun in question in my hands, but the pictures suggest it is a significantly better specimen than most which are currently for sale on the various selling sites. This considers leaving feature preferences aside.

If I didn't have one like this, and I "needed" one, I'd have paid what the winning bidder did (and no doubt been outbid).

I sure like that the BP is posted as you bid, and after the sale.

All I can say is that after this sale I am still married...barely.:rotf:

Beauty of a gun. Not enthralled with 2 1/2" chambers though. If that was my purchase they'd become 2 3/4" chambers in a hurry.

I’d just shoot 2 3/4 in the darn thing if the gun closed easily .

Garry,
Probably deserves a thread of its own, but it would interesting to survey the various responses to our spouses “after the sale”. My wife asked what I spent rather than if I was fortunate. My response was oddly muddled and vague!

The EH 8 gauge was a strange result for a great gun. I guess I'll donate all of my eights to the Salvation Army and take a tax deduction. The consignor took a serious bath on that one.

How do you come to that conclusion? It sold for $5700 which means that it hammered at $4750, only one bid off of $5000, which was the low end of the pre auction estimate. It opened at $2500. It could certainly have sold for that price or one or two bids higher. Now that’s a bath!

A thread such as that would certainly have it's share of pictures. My wife has perfected a 'look' which conveys more than words could.

Ian,

So, the SOLD price includes Buyer's Premium?

Just curious because I wanted to know about four Jim Sprankle decoys: #252, 253, 254 and 255. I have 3 of his decoys.

Thanks Ian.
