I think I have a picture of it somewhere. It was priced above my budget. I wonder if it ever sold? |
The Jerry Smith AHE 10 sold real cheap. I don't know why.

Let's see, for 2021 so far...
20g VH 16g VH 16g Trojan 12g VH 16g H grade Lefever Ruger #1 .280 Rem w/ Leupold scope Might have missed one or two. This doesn't include any handguns or MSRs that I just REALLY enjoy shooting because all are welcome at "The Freedom Bunker". |

It was worn to the extreme. That's why it languished for sale for such a long time at his asking price. . |
Just picked up a DH 12 32” 2 frame straight grip no safety gun on Poulin’s . Left ME went to RVA AND NOW IS IN Charleston SC . Today I bought a DH 10 gauge on a 6 frame that was sold at auction as a 10 gauge and it’s in the book as something else . I hope my suspicions are correct , it has 34” barrels btw ! It also letters as something else as well .

Good job on that DH! Like you said, worst case scenario it is a 10 or 12 on a 6 frame. Best case scenario . . . .

Late to the game on the long 16-gauge shells subject, but while the "standard" 16-gauge shell was 2 9/16-inch, they were offered in 2 3/4, 2 7/8 and 3-inch. Back in the day there was a series of articles by Gaucho of his trip through the south hunting with a 2 7/8-inch 16-gauge, but I have yet to see a box of 2 7/8-inch 16-gauge shells. This 1927 Peters catalog lists the availability of their High Velocity in 2 7/8-inch lengths --
