Thanks again Jay. It was good to finally get together and break clays again with a great bunch of SxS guys. Looking forward to Ernie's even more now.

Cam was a great shot today in our group and his grandfather has every reason to be proud of him.

It was great to meet guys I've only corresponded with in the past and to see old friends again. We had great weather and Peace Dale was an excellent host. Many thanks to Jay for organizing it.

It was a fine day we had, and thanks to Jay for arranging it.

Saw a couple vintage, elegantly-styled, hammer guns in action breaking clays with an aplomb that belied the age of weapons that a generation ago the conventional wisdom said were no longer good for anything but wall ornamentation.

Seeing Chuck B. reach out and bust the high and/or far-away variety of targets was a convincing vindication of the effectuality of Parker’s 28-gauge guns.

Not only was the shoot worth participating in; it was worth GOING to participate in. Kathy G. and I came down a day early and soaked up some of the regional atmosphere of the West side of Narransett Bay. I, a life-long New Englander, have had scant exposure to those Ocean State resort towns, historic villages, and sea food restaurants. We recommend the Sugar Loaf Bed & Breakfast in town, too. Our hosts were very congenial, and figuratively and literally went the extra mile: The proprietress insisted on GUIDING us over to the Peace Dale Shooting preserve!

I have only been to the New Years shoot in N.H. and yesterday in R.I. but what has impressed me at both is the generosity of the people at both. They are generous of their knowledge and time and i can not count the number of guns i was handed with ''take it and shoot it'' and these were not common, run of the mill guns but their owners prize possessions. A handful a shells accompanied each offer.

I can see the reason so many look forward to the big overnight shoots and hope to someday make them also. My sincere thanks to Jay and all of you who put up with me.

Dan, I should have offered my 16 hammer to you to shoot. Next time we’re together, feel free to do so. It swings and shoots just like you would imagine.
