This is a old muzzel loading side by side that I cant put a finger on. I am trying to resesrch it for my cousin in law. She recently aquired it from her fathers possessions after his passing. I have found the proof mark, St. Elienne, France, possibly dating the barrels to between 1825-1856. This unfortunately, is all I have found, the other names and markings being beyond my knoledge. The writing on the rib is partially worn off, but some is ledgeable. The odd foregrip is something new to me as well, possibly being a modification. If so, a bit of care went into its installation.

That is a really neat old gun but under the revised Assault Weapons ban being proposed in Connecticut, that pistol grip would make it illegal to own here.

Very nice craftsmanship in that gun. I think that forgrip extension on the gun would make that an assault weapon here in NY. LOL

Hey, I know a high capacity muzzleloader with military features when I see one.

That grip is interesting, makes me wonder if the gun was set up to be used by somebody who only had one arm.

I am sorry but I cant help but ask. If you are hanging on to the grip (with your only arm) how do you pull the triggers.

I vaguely remember a picture, old film, or something of that nature, showing a person standing and aiming a gun. He had the aid of a stick or pole extended to the ground from the foregrip, I'm assuming for stability. I wonder if this has any correlation with this foregrip.
