Would a set of orphaned 16 gauge barrels fit on a 12 gauge Ithaca flues?

Not positive, bit I don't think so. If I remember correctly, 20 and 16 gauges used the same size frame in a Flues model. Could be wrong, others please chime in. Thanks, Jim

Well I have a 20 gauge frame for 1909 and a 12 gauge frame from 1920. The 16 ga barrels are from 1924. If that helps any. I know that it would have to be fitted if it fit one of these frames.

Measure the barrel across the middle of the chamber end then measure the breech face of each frame and also the distance between the firing pins. If center to center on the pins are the same then go to across to the barrels and see which are closer in size. I think the 20 ga will be a better match for the 16 ga barrels. Jim

as i recall, all three gauges have their own frame size? and i do know that within the same gauge there are differences in frame size.

I think I read somewhere that Ithaca used the same size frame for 12, 16, 20 gauges. Not entirely sure tho.

I only own one Ithaca Flues and it is a 28-gauge with 15/16 inch firing pin centers. I own NIDs in all gauges and this is what I found -- .410-bore and 28-gauges 15/16 inch; 20-gauge 1 inch; 16- and 12-gauge 1 1/8 inch; and 10-gauge 1 1/4 inch. FWIW

The 12, 16 and 20 all have different measurements across the breech face. The 12 and 16 are from the 20's the 20 was made in 1909, that may have something to do with it.

I have a sixteen year old young man who just was given a 1920 20 gauge Flues. He is only missing the forearm. If any of you know of one please contact me.
