Austin explained this "F.9.R." stamp some time ago. It would take me days - even weeks to find his reference to that in all the records I received from him. And I think the "B" preceeding the serial number has been discussed before too... possibly by Austin too. Chambered for the 12B cartridge possibly? just a guess.
That gun is a Dollar Grade, an A equivalent as you titled it, with those wonderful Laminated barrels found only on the higher grades of that era. Nice gun I'm sure.

Bruce does the gun pictured have a stock like this ? I believe it does this a 12 ga
