I've recently purchased a parker trojan manufactured in 1918, according to the serial number. Actions are very good and tight. My question is, did parker ever make a coach gun? The barrel is 22 1/4" in length. The rib and keel seem to be original along with the sight bead. Thank you in advance for your responses. Jay

No

A few short barrels mostly 24" were original, but not as Trojans as far as I know.

If you give us the serial number we may be able to tell you the original barrel length

Can anyone tell me if the barrel length modifications have been done correctly? Attached is a picture of the muzzle. Can anyone tell me affect of the modification on the value of the gun? Reason I'm asking is because if it's basically a wall hanger, I might just re-finish it. Thanks in advance for your responses. Jay

If the barrels had been shortened by Parker Bros. they would have installed keels right to the end of the muzzles so yours were not done properly. Cutting 4" off the end of Parker barrels effectively eliminates all choke and the value of your gun for most practical purposes has been reduced.
