I Would like to wish every one a very Merry Christmas, and Happy New year. Do not forget those that are away in service of their country, We have many blessings that we take for granted, stop and reflect over this holiday season, and do something good for someone else. From the warmth of my hearth to you, and yours Gary, Megan, Mattie, Carmichael

Thank you, Gary. For our men and women in uniform, Christmas can be lonely, even when you are surrounded by 1500 people on a ship. My best to you and yours:)

Thank you Gary. Very festive tree. I appreciate your sentiments regarding our service men and women. My son hasn't been able to be home for the holidays since entering the USCG 10 years ago. It doesn't seem fair, but if I were at sea, I'd be comforted in knowing kids like him are there if I needed them. If any of you have seen the WX channel show Coast Guard Alaska, you've seen him in the opening scene in every episode; the kid standing on the open ramp of his C130. He's now in the cockpit, but we still yell "There's Colin". Happy Holidays to the Carmichael house, as well as all our members, from the Spencer farm.

Have a peaceful holiday for whatever you celebrate. Just appreciate the friends you have and the friends you will make.
And be thankful that Colin and a bunch of other good kids are out there keeping the world safe for us all.
And also be thankful that Colin got his good looks from his mother.

Be careful George. I saw a guy pointing at me at lunch yesterday, and overheard him say "I don't know what that guy has, but it must be contagious cuz Purtill caught it.

Thanks for the well wishes to all of us. I humbly offer the same from my wife and me. May our country start to prosper and common sense take over our government.

What kind of dogs are under the tree at the Osthaus house?

Dennis,

those are a pair of dejected Old Hemlock English Setters

OH Osthaus on the right and OH Griffin on the left, they just plain hate to pose :rotf:

Appears to be a nice A.B. Frost print in the background too

You need to give them a bath. The white one rubbed some color off on the black one.:rotf: and visa versa.

They'd be a lot happier if their gifts were under the tree.

you can't point a camera ( or crappy cell phone in this case) in this room without getting at least one bird dog print in the shot. And the odds are pretty good it will be a Frost or an Osthaus. :rotf:

That one is Frost's "Ruffed Grouse Shooting"

and if you look close, the younger dog's cat is peeking out from behind the base of the tree.
