I found an Parker Brothers 16ga ch grade for sale and i want to know if anything that i list about the gun sounds fishy.

the gun was make in 1905, its a 16ga ch grade with titanic barrels the barrels are what im not sure about because they say the ch grades are made with acme steel - bernard steel barrels. but all the serial numbers do match.

i would say that the over all condition of the gun is 10%-20% the stock has some dents and a hair line crack through the grip, the blueing is very faded
the engraving still look ok but the skeleton butt plate is worn and the checkering in it is cracked. the gun locks up very tight and smooth like a new gun there are no dents and dings in the barrels and everything still works so this brings me to my next question does $2500.00 sound like a fair price? i wish i had some pics to
show

so let me know what yall think thanks!

ok - the book says 130262 is a 16 bore DH/3 grade with 28 inch Titanic barrels, capped pistol grip stock

personally - 2500 might be a little high for a DH in 10% condition with a cracked stock. but thats my first opinion

but then it is a 16

Doug, CH and DH grade guns made in 1905 will have Titanic Steel barrels. Hope this helps a bit. Pictures would give us a whole lot more to go by.

Doug that sounds like a fair price from what you described, I bought a similar CH 12 ga for around the same money that needed a bit of work.

why would the book show that its a dh but the gun is stamped ch?
thing like this is why i like to try and find everything i can about these old high dollar guns so i dont drop alot of money on something its not.

Doug unfortunately some times the book is wrong, A photo or close examination would tell you which it is, Gary

if you cannot get pictures since its for sale some where, study the grade identification photos on the home page before you look at it again.

The order book entry for these guns does not show the grade. It only shows the price and the type of barrel steel. The people posting the information into the computer could easily mistake a C for a D. The stock books, the vehicle usually used for data entry, can be just as confusing. A CH 16 would be well worth restoring if it is broken. If you are not interested in this gun, send the contact info to me. I love guns that cost me more than they are worth.

maybe i can get some pictures up by the middle of next week. i found it in a pawn shop about 150 miles from where i live while i was on a business trip, so im waiting to get the chance to get back up there and give it another look over before i buy it. i need to double check myself and be sure its a ch grade and not a dh cause i dont think i want to give 2500 for a dh but if anything changes and i dont buy it i will let every one here know where to find it if they want it.
