Essentially this is what I am looking at. I found a DHE 12 bore. screws excellent, engraving excellent, on face, barrels excellent ring like bells. no pits or any other imperfections. ejectors strong and timed. all screws timed. 28 inch barrels and both original mid and front site are present. the gun had been re-stocked. It has the original fore-end but the buttstock had been replaced. modern dimensions but the checkering is so so and some of the inletting could be better. no drop points and the checkering had not been done to match a DHE 3 point pattern. anyway what say you on a price if you saw this? I am thinking I might still pursue as I know a re-stock would be in the future.

Rickey,
It sounds like a DHE 12ga I got several years ago. It is also 28". It had a replacement V grade stock which then had been in a fire, charred, and filled with plastic wood. The forend was original but broken in half and repaired long ago with hide glue. I bought it with the intention of restocking. Everything else is great, screws, engraving, mirror bores, and it letters with original chokes of improved cylinder and modified. I need to get back to that project soon. I paid $2,250.00.

I have seen dh 12g guns that need stocks sell for as low s $1,200-1,500.
But those were extractor guns. Obviously the price can go up from there, especially depending on the condition of all else other than wood.
