Keep an eye out o. eBay and gunbroker. They pop up from time to time. Or maybe someone here has a spare. I am fresh out right now. Just a tip, sometimes the hammers are different in form and engraving style. So if you care about them matching, might be best to look for a matched set.

Jack:
You may have some luck contacting Dick Chubb. He has TONS of hammers, original and repro. His email is bchubb@comcast.net

I would send you a pm, but it is not an option for you. I may have an extractor for you. What guage and frame size is your gun? I take it that it is a top action hammer gun?

hello Brian

thank you for such a quick response
i'm not sure how to answer your question though

from the markings and common sense the shotgun is a 12 guage
the barrel type is a Twist
the barrel part number is 18525
the butt part number is 33941
does this helps further?

best

Well, I asked what type of action the gun is (lifter of top action) and also what frame size. The frame size will be stamped on the bottom of the barrel locking lug.

bonsoir Brian
being french and living in france, now,i'm doing a catch-up course on shotgun semantics
now i know what to call the part i'm missing...it's the forend...
i'll check tomorrow what frame size i own
my shotgun is top-lever-action and not lifter-action...
am i making progress?
the barrel is marked twist but the shotgun finishing is engravingf-less so a rather rudimentary piece...but hopelessly worthless without the forend
the butt is stamped 33941,so manufactured in 1883
the barrel is stamped 18525 with a 12 merk in a circle and 2 letters stamped next to it
an S on the left side and a T on the right side
the barrel says Parker Brothers Makers Twist on the top side
and tomorrow i should come up with the frame size itself
there...
bonsoir

There is a grade 0 12 bore that sells on Gunrunner tonight. The bidding is presently $240. lots of good parts if not kept intact.

hello Edgar
this is great...but living in france and already owning a Parker,i am only interested in the parts, not the whole...and THE forend,to be exact
my son lives in Manhattan,so it's easy for me to arrange logistics and financials...
do you think you can help?

The parts you're looking for will cost you more than the gun on gunrunners, but the thing about auctions, is that you never know what it will ultimately sell for. Knowing that site as I do, I expect there won't be much more activity beyond where it is now. Finding fore end wood is easy, but the fore end iron is not so easy to find. A matching pair of hammers are worth $80-100 by themselves. Your son can bid on it, and if he wins it, they can ship it to him without paperwork, then he can just send you the parts you need.

hello "all"...thank you once again, edgar, for calling my attention on the auction sale for a 0 grade 12 bore Parker gun...but somehow the process is self-defeating
a buy a "complet" gun...for the forend i want to fit on my "incomplete" gun...thereby ending up with a complete gun and an incomplete gun...then wanting to buy a forend for the now incomplete gun...and so on ...
doesn't really add up
so,if anybody can signal me when a parts auction is being held...i'm on the market for a forend...nothing more and nothing less,if i may say so
i've learnt a lot from brian and edgar
i know what i own and i know what i'm looking for...
now all i need is the answer to my quest(and query)
merci guys
