Can anyone tell me the stock books(?) that have the sn#"s are missing from? I'm looking at a gun dated in the 1904 sn range, and want to order a letter, but don't want to waste my time if they are unavailable.
Thanks-
Chris

Hi Chris:
On the left, fourth item down, is "Research Letters". Click that. Read through that page and find a "click here" and it will ask you for the serial number of your gun. Then it will tell you if there are records available for a Parker letter.

Thanks-
I didn't notice my "pop-up blocker" blocked the lookup feature...

You should be more worried about missing order books rather than stock books. The order books give you information about ownership provenance. The stock books will only tell you about the grade, barrel steel and length and little other information. Missing stock book information is included in the Parker Gun Identification and Serialization Book.

"The PGCA Serial Number Database indicates that there are surviving Parker Factory records for your gun." I'm hoping the order book has survived too...
Thanks

Even if you send your check for a letter and there are no surviving records, our research chairman, Chuck Bishop, will return your check to you. We don't make anyone pay for something we can't provide.

If you can provide your serial number, we will tell you if your gun is in surviving stock books. If not, then the order book is probably available.

After reviewing more photos, the gun is a "FrankenParker"...

The original purchaser MAY be available through a research letter - see the home page
This information is not always given, many guns were ordered for stock or ordered through a dealer in which case the dealer's name show on the order
