Hey folks,
I found a nice little 12 ga DHE grade in town. It has had some stock mods done (a cheek piece installed). The barrels have 2 nice ivory beads, with a beaver tail forend and a straight stock with double triggers. It has a safety switch. The engraving is still nice, but the finish is blued. The wood is very dark, too.
Perhaps someone can shed some light on this little gem if the build material is still available.

Thank you,
Chris

Sorry, it's not listed in the serialization book.

No sweat! I am thinking of purchasing it anyway and taking it in to a reliable gunsmith to have the wood refinished and the receiver case colored. It sure swings nicely.

Thank you for your input.

Welcome Chris

A reasearch letter should give you some insight to the original setup and some history on a DHE

Chris,

Please post pictures of the gun when you buy it. Sounds interesting. Depending on the price of the gun, it would be a good one to bring back and make some things right again.

That gun sounds like a nightmare. With thousands of D grade Parkers out there, why buy one that has been severely messed with?

It might be a good shooter, as is. If the receiver is blued the barrels may have been hot blued also. Caveat emptor. Don't put much money in it.

Why not just find a D grade in original and unaltered configuration and perhaps modest condition? Blued frame, altered stock, probably altered forend, asking for trouble.
