Please say a prayer for Steve Barnett -- he suffered a heart attack sunday while preparing to go to a show--he was scheduled to have double bypass surgery tomorrow and was resting comfortably when he had a second attack late this afternoon -- they have rushed him into surgery and are performing the bypass as I write -- He is a friend to all on this site and heck of a good guy --Please provide the power of prayer

I don't wear a wristwatch any more for that reason. May God look out for him and let modern medicine do the rest.

I have faith that Steve will be OK after the surgery. But I'm praying for his recovery anyhow. They say if you get through one heart attack your chances are significantly improved for a full recovery. Good Luck Steve!

Steve is a great guy. He is fair and honest in his business and a person I call a friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and especially for him.

Rich I agree -- he is my mentor and has always been a great friend -- I have never had a deal he did not honor. Hes as generous of his time as he is with his money. Please keep Joanne in your prayers as well, she is a strong woman but still needs your prayers and support. Give her or steve a call or text to let them know your thinking of them. Gods speed brother!

I have purchased a couple of guns from him and found him to be a true gentleman, always having time to talk to you. Also very fair. I too hope and pray for his full recovery.

What I love about the guy is that usually the first words out of his mouth whenever I approach him to negotiate a price or trade on a gun deal are; "Kevin, what do YOU want to do?" In all my years of dealing with him, wonderful guns and never a bad memory.

good / bad news --
The old boy is up and moving -- Joanne says he is doing everything the doctor asks of him -- he has been walking, gabbing and hanging out in his room. She says he is slated to go home on mon-tuesday and will be back in form shortly -- Bad news -- if you bummed hard "liker" , smokes or fried chicken , find another source, he is going to be the poster child for "The New Dealer"
Best

Goodness! He'll lose so much weight that he'll have to buy a whole new wardrobe of tropical shirts. Might be a good idea to buy Tommy Bahama stock.
Happy to hear that he's on the mend.

That's great news.... But he ain't going to lose some weight....trust me on this I quit smoking 2 years ago (best thing I did) but I 've got 20 pounds to lose due to it:cuss: And I know quiting smoking for Steve is going to be hard but he will do it.... Steve if you are watching this thread, listen to the Doctors and do what they say.....Eric

Quit the smokes Steve - they'll kill you quicker but don't give up on the other two...

Dean, I am worried, seems as though I like all the things they are telling Steve to lay off of. I like a good cigar, A good drink of whiskey, and damn I love fried chicken! and yea I am 70 but I still stare and admire a good looking woman. I think this is the fourth part of this equation, lust makes the blood flow freely thus lowering the risk associated with the aforementioned vices. So the moral is if you are going to eat fried chicken, smoke, drink, you have to do the fourth and most important part of the equation, Steve, I hope this makes you smile, Gary

I got a txt from Steve and he said he's recouping nicely....but the Dr's say no Vintagers for him this year. His smile (& guns) will be missed by his buds in Addieville next weekend.

I just talked to Steve, they did a double bypass but his humor was in working order. He gave up smoking, and you guys keep reminding him. He is doing well and will spend a couple of hours a day at the shop.
